2D development: parents room Sketch/Moodboard
When designing a room with a bathroom for millennials, I’ll use a minimalist approach with neutral colors and simple lines, For example, I might use white walls and light grey furniture to keep things uncluttered. I can include a little bit of Boho mixed with Moroccan style to add unique charm.
I’ll add smart technology, such as a smart mirror that shows the weather and a programmable shower system with multiple settings.
I’ll choose sustainable materials like bamboo flooring and low-flow faucets. For small spaces, I’ll incorporate built-in storage solutions, like a floating vanity and recessed shelves. Stylish storage, such as open shelves and mirrored cabinets, will help keep everything organized.
I’ll include bold accents, like a patterned tile backsplash or a statement light fixture, to add personality. Natural elements, such as wooden accents and indoor plants like succulents, will create a relaxing atmosphere. I will create a mood board to understand the design direction. Then, I’ll sketch the layout.
To create the mood board and sketch, I started by collecting inspiration for the bedroom design. I focused on choosing colors, materials, and furniture that would create the right atmosphere. First, I put together the mood board digitally, carefully selecting each element to ensure they worked well together. This included the bed design, lighting fixtures, and wall treatments. I paid attention to textures, colors, and how each piece of furniture would fit into the overall design.
Once the mood board was complete, I used it as a guide to sketch the bedroom. I kept the layout and proportions in mind, making sure the design was practical as well as visually appealing. The sketch included details like the arrangement of the bed, the placement of nightstands, and the choice of lighting. I also added a few decorative elements, like plants, to enhance the design. This process helped me visualize the space clearly, making sure everything from the mood board came together in the final sketch.
