Development of child room HomeByMe
I'm using the HomeByMe platform to work on my design ideas. I'm starting with a child's room. This platform helps me try out different design elements and see how they fit together in a real space. It allows me to visualize my concepts and refine them as I go.
In the first image, I started by choosing the basic layout for the child's room. I decided on a room size of 7.6 square meters, which is a modest space to work with.
This size is practical for a child's room, offering just enough space for the essential furniture while still feeling open and airy. It provides a manageable area that isn't too large, making it easier to create a cozy and functional design.
In the second image, I shifted my attention to the flooring. The choice of flooring is important because it sets the overall tone for the room. I selected a deep navy carpet called "Belian ULTRASOFT." This carpet adds a cozy and comfortable feel, making it perfect for a child's room. The rich navy color also creates a versatile backdrop, allowing for different color schemes and decorations as the child grows. This choice ensures that the room remains adaptable over time.
Then I looked into more customization options by adjusting the carpet's color palette and texture. The HomeByMe platform provides a wide variety of materials and colors, which helped me visualize the final appearance of the room. This step is crucial to ensure that the materials I choose are not only visually appealing but also practical and durable for daily use in a child's room. It allowed me to see how different choices would work together to create a functional and beautiful space
I started by exploring the "Furnish" section, where I focused on the "Baby & Kids" category. Here, I found different types of furniture like beds, cribs, and chairs.
I decided to focus on the bed first, as it's the main piece of the room. I chose a children's bed with storage units, as seen in the images. This bed is practical because it offers both a place to sleep and storage space for toys or clothes
I made sure to pick items that are functional and look nice together, creating a room that is both practical and visually appealing.
The main furniture piece I added was a children's bed with storage units, sized at 90 x 190 cm. I chose this bed because it fits well in the small space and serves multiple purposes. The storage units in the bed help keep toys, books, and other items organized. I placed the bed against the wall to save space and leave enough room for movement and other furniture.
I chose a specific wardrobe unit called the "Kit dressing open ideas Star Topanga Star," which measures 1,200 x 1,180 x 500 cm. I picked this wardrobe because it has a sleek design and practical storage space. Its neutral color and simple style match the bed and other items in the room without standing out too much. I carefully placed the wardrobe so it doesn’t block the room’s flow while still offering plenty of storage for clothes and other things. This step was important to complete the room’s design, balancing both looks and functionality.
Next, I used the HomeByMe furniture library to add more items to the bedroom. I looked for essential furniture that matched the bed's style and made the room more functional. I focused on items like wardrobes, nightstands, and chests of drawers in the "Bedroom" section. These pieces are important for a cohesive look and for providing storage. As an interior design student, I aimed to create a balanced and harmonious space, so I carefully considered how each piece would fit in the room’s layout and color scheme.
Then,I started by choosing a bright red "Child Office Desk" as the main piece in the room. The bold color encourages creativity and adds a fun element to the workspace. This desk is great for a young child, providing plenty of space for drawing, homework, or creative projects. Its compact design keeps it from taking up too much room, leaving space for other functional areas.
Next, I chose the "Balloon and Astronaut Ceiling Lamp." This lamp gives the room light and also acts as a fun decoration. The design shows a little astronaut floating under a balloon, adding a playful and imaginative touch to the space. This lamp can spark a child’s curiosity about space and science. The light from the lamp is soft, making the room feel cozy and calm. It’s perfect for creating a peaceful atmosphere at bedtime
I added a few different toys to the room. I chose a plush rabbit, a classic phone toy, and a basketball set. These toys are not just for fun; they also help a child develop important skills. The plush rabbit is soft and comforting, which can make the child feel secure. The phone toy is great for encouraging pretend play and learning how to communicate. The basketball set helps improve coordination and encourages physical activity. Each toy was picked carefully to match the room's theme and to create a space that is both fun and educational. The goal was to make a room where a child can play, learn, and feel happy.
Then, I started by selecting a room and exploring different wallpaper options to enhance its look. After reviewing the options, I chose a wallpaper that complemented the room’s modern furniture, including the wardrobe, shelves, and wall-mounted cabinet. This process allowed me to experiment with different patterns and textures, ensuring the final design would create the desired ambiance. By changing the wallpaper, I was able to transform the room’s overall look and feel, showcasing my ability to bring a fresh perspective to interior design.
And I started by selecting a room and exploring different curtain options to improve its look . I reviewed various curtain samples on the website to see how they would look in the space. After careful consideration, I chose curtains that matched the room’s modern furniture, including the bed, chairs, and tables. This process helped me experiment with different colors and textures to create the right atmosphere.
The final outcome of this child’s room for my project is both practical and imaginative. I made sure the room is perfect for sleep and play. The elevated bed creates extra space underneath for storage and play, and the ladder adds a sense of adventure. I chose light-colored walls and flooring to keep the room bright and inviting. Colorful toys, like a green dinosaur and an orange tiger-striped toy, add a playful feel. The red toy chest and other toys, such as a soccer ball and a blue robot, show that the room is used often.
This design shows my ability to create a space that is both functional and fun for a young boy.

Good that you have the process on homebyme, the words here are not all your own and you are in danger of getting a bad academic practice - you need to show your own voice
