Mind Map

In the second sessions of Art Portfolio 2. we were tasked with creating a mind map to brainstorm ideas for my project in interior design, as outlined in my design brief. The image I shared reflects the concepts and inspiration I explored during this process.

This mind map outlines my interior design ideas for a 2-bedroom flat. I took inspiration from Connecticut, focusing on nature like trees, flowers, and the Mountain. I also considered local foods such as mushrooms, ice cream, and lobster rolls in the design.

The color palette is earthy and natural. Safety is important, so I'm using safe materials and childproofing the space. the design is simple, with a focus on good use of space and plenty of storage. This mind map helped me organize and visualize these concepts.

As an interior design student, I thought about linking this project to a Bohemian style. The natural elements in my mind map, like trees, flowers, and earthy tones, fit well with the Bohemian look. Bohemian style values nature, so using materials inspired by Connecticut landscape makes sense.

The design is simple and functional, which matches the relaxed, comfortable vibe of Bohemian interiors(Obrzud, 2022) . The earthy colors I chose, along with the focus on local nature, help create a warm and inviting space. the connection to social housing adds a practical side to the bohemian theme, ensuring the design is both stylish.
